Climate Change – The Elevator Pitch
By Collin Maessen on commentWhen John Cook, Peter Sinclair and I were interviewing scientist at the AGU 2014 Fall Meeting John Cook asked them one last brilliant question:
Ok, you’re getting on an elevator with someone, and they say, ‘So you’re a climate scientist, what’s all this about climate change and global warming?’ You’ve got 10 floors. Go.
We got an interesting range of answers from some of the best scientists from around the world. Peter Sinclair got the idea to turn this into a video series and he has already released the first video.
I’m also not far behind with two series of my own. One series again thanks to a brilliant question Cook asked all the scientists he interviewed. The other series is based on me getting a hold of every science communicator that I could.
You can look forward to more elevator pitch videos from Sinclair and the other two series from me.
Eli’s elevator pitch is rather short, and maybe a bit dour
We are conducting an uncontrolled experiment that is altering the land, the air and the oceans. Everything we know says it will end badly, the only uncertainty is when. We are all responsible, yet together we can still save our world.
